Ours is a practice of exploration and discovery, supporting each other in community. To find what is in our hearts and to experience our lives as they are adds richness and clarity. We invite you to join us on this adventurous path by participating in our activities.  Practicing in community often deepens our practice without even trying.

Discovery in the Desert
April 8 - May 31

Clear blue skies, sweet smell of acacia,  yellow blossoms of the palo verde signal spring in the desert.  Noticing the richness and beauty of life in spring reminds us to notice the richness of our own life and our practice.  We are taking this time to attend to our practice and invite you to join us.  Throughout the period we will explore with the following koan.   Click here for more details.

Not falling into being or non-being--do you really understand this?
Everyone longs to leave the flux of life
not just to live in some perfect harmony,
but to return and sit by the charcoal fire.

For whom do you bathe and make yourself beautiful?
The voice of the cuckoo is calling you home.
Hundreds of flowers fall, yet that voice is not stilled;
even deep in jumbled mountains, it is calling clearly.

In a spring outside time, flowers bloom on a withered tree;
you ride a jade elephant backwards, chasing the winged dragon-deer;
now as you hide far beyond innumerable peaks--
the white moon, a cool breeze, the dawn of a fortunate day.
