KOAN SEMINARS
with John Tarrant Roshi
These exciting one-day programs offer a rare opportunity to experience koans in a collaborative environment, working with John Tarrant Roshi, one of the foremost koan teachers in the United States. These programs include guided meditation, interactive koan work, and conversation.
No experience is needed to participate in a koan seminar; koans meet where you are. Koans are both works of art and methods of spiritual transformation. With a koan you let it keep you company. It's not a matter of looking for the right answer, but of finding out what the koan has to teach you. The koan doesn't judge you or complain, it just reveals what the mind does. It also shows the nature of the world when it is not being too distorted by delusion. Koans are intended to take you directly into reality--before you can explain it away. . | 2011 ScheduleFebruary 18 & 19
