Sunday Sunday Sunday Sunday
Our practice at Desert Lotus Zen is meditation, koan study, and enquiry. We are a community in the Rinzai Zen tradition that embraces koan practice of the Pacific Zen Institute to create a culture of transformation. As a group we sit together in zazen, and then we discuss a weekly koan. We meet on Sunday afternoons in six-week sessions scheduled throughout the year. We hold our meetings in Chandler, Arizona, and serve the Phoenix metro area. We invite you to join us as we work together to explore koans and our lives.
Desert Lotus Zen is affiliated with the Pacific Zen Institute (PZI) founded by John Tarrant, Roshi, author of Bring Me the Rhinoceros and Other Zen Koans to Save Your Life and The Light Inside the Dark: Zen, Soul and the Spirit of Life. We connect with PZI's programs and teachers for retreats and guidance. Jon Joseph, Roshi, of PZI's Camp Portola Zendo in San Mateo, California works directly with us, and future retreats with John and Jon are planned for Phoenix.
Dates for our next session are posted at the conclusion of the current session. Email us at [email protected] to receive announcements, koans, or to ask questions. Like us at Facebook.
